You know when your feet really need a sprucing up. Like your own heels inflict pain if you catch them against your other shin? We have all been there after a little while of sandal wearing. If you need a pedicure, why not to try go dry. You’re no doubt used to soaking  your tootsies in a bubbling bowl of warm, soapy water, but maybe not for long. Whether you are looking to have just a quick gel polish on toes or an amazing callus removal treatment, here at Nail Art Studio your appointment will begin with feet sanitation, careful inspection or cuts, blisters, sores, warts, ingrown nails etc & a dry pedicure.

WHAT IS A DRY PEDICURE?

A dry pedicure really gets to work on super dry skin and calluses, which are more visible to the technician than when the skin is saturated. Dipping your feet in heated water can cause cuticles to expand, meaning more skin may be removed than necessary (and we need our cuticles to defend against infection). In short, if your feet need a real good talking to (or, you know, filing), a dry pedicure is probably best.

Dry pedicure is a technique that involves use of an electric file to remove the excess skin (cuticles) surrounding toe nail bed and calluses from the soles. Working with e-file is more controlled, compared to when using nippers, it eliminates the possibility of cuts.  You might be used to having a relaxing bubbly soak, but don’t worry, this treatment is guaranteed to make you feel relaxed and pampered.  This technique is a great solution for healthy way of nail & skin care.

benefits of dry pedicure

BETTER HYGIENE STANDARDS
Most importantly, avoiding soaking your feet eliminates the risk factor for developing bacterial and fungal skin infections. Health and hygiene is the priority.

GEL POLISH LASTS LONGER|
Dry nails mean longer lasting gel polish. How’s that? Soaking in water expands and softens the nail plate, meaning that once they’ve shrunk back to size, cracks might occur and affect the adhesion. A dry approach most definitely prolongs the adhesion of gel polish to the natural nail plate.

SHORTER TREATMENT TIME
Clients have busy lives. They still love to be pampered but they don’t always have the time for a lengthy manicure. Dry manicures remove the soaking step so the treatment time is shortened.

DRY PEDICURES REDUCE CUTICLE ISSUES
The typical soaking plumps your cuticles and calluses, making it more difficult to notice dry skin that may need to be trimmed. When the dry skin is not visible after soaking it can also be threatening as some nail technicians cut deep into the skin with the nippers causing damage to micro tissues what naturally leads to rapid cuticle overgrowth and makes surrounding skin prone to acute paronychia (skin infection).

PEDICURE  LASTS LONGER
Is important that excess skin is removed without any abrasiveness. Dry manicure technique ensures that the cuticle doesn’t overgrow and the side walls are perfectly polished. Such pedicure can last up to eight weeks but of course it depends on individual growth factor. Most of my clients last up to six weeks of wear.
